Growing up Catholic, Lent always meant giving up sweets for 40 days. At least that’s what it used to mean to me. Now a days I view it a little differently. Even though I’m not Catholic anymore, I still give stuff up still, it’s not because of an expectation, but because of a sacrifice. This year I am giving up eating out and Starbucks.
This year I am also adding something to my life. I have made a list of 40 people who have touched my life and every day of Lent I am going to write that person a letter and pray for them. I thought this would be a special way for me to focus more on the people who mean something in my life.
I ran across this quote on Pinterest today:
“If Your Dreams Don’t Scare You They’re Not Big Enough.”
Well, my dreams definitely scare me, and I feel like they are way too big for what I can actually accomplish, but I am going to keep trucking on with them. Dreaming and hoping that one day they one day come to fruition. I know that the Lord has a big part in my dreams and if they are of Him, then he is going to work them all out for His good.
I could use prayers for my dreams and how to go about making them reality. Hopefully one day I’ll be able to post that an undisclosed dream or two is becoming a reality in my life.
I finished my seventh book of the year, “Save The Date” by Jenny Jones. It was such a cute story and it was one of those books that once I started reading I couldn’t put it down. I loved it! If you are looking for a cute read then I totally suggest it!
